The T-6 Class features stock aircraft, including the original T-6 “Texan,” the Canadian-built “Harvard,” and the US Navy “SNJ” version aircraft. Built and used during WW II as an Advanced Trainer, they are big, loud and fun on the race course. The fastest T-6 reach speeds of over 230 mph on their 5.06-mile course. Because the aircraft are all stock and the same type, the class is focused on pilot skill and tactics.
The aircraft feature two seats, having originally been built to carry an Instructor and a student pilot. Team Precious Metal’s primary sponsor is Warbird Adventures; which offers a variety of of flight trianing packages in their T-6 fleet. Customers can take the controls of a real T-6 Warbird at their home base in Kissimmee, Florida. Lucky fans may even get to fly with Thom Richard himself!
